Brutalizam is divided into three segments: one dedicated to spomenici ("Spomenik"), another to brutalist, but also rationalist and functionalist structures ("Cities in Dust"), a third segment is a tribute to the Bauhaus ("Bauhaus dreaming").
Brutalizam is the result of a stratification of techniques, of construction processes, of man-machine contaminations: from the pixel on the screen to the digital acquisition of the drawing, from the graphic editing that tames the hand stroke to the Indian ink that subjects the printing toner.
Gimo's works printed on posters, identified with the expression "GIMO graphics", are free of hand intervention with Indian ink.
SPOMENIK
SPOMENIK
(Plural: spomenici. Yugoslav monuments built to honor people's resistance struggle during the WWII against Axis occupation).
Each work is printed on 30x40 cm. forex panel and finished by hand with Indian ink.
Each work is dedicated to a Yugoslav spomenik. Each spomenik was extracted from its context and placed in a non-time and non-place: GIMO's vision.
A code appears on each spomenik. It's perhaps an ancient language or an unknown alien language or a message arriving from the future. Or...?

CITIES IN DUST

Each work is dedicated to a brutalist or functionalist or rationalist structure.
In GIMO's vision they become the symbol of the city in which they are located and, at the same time, the protagonists of a dream or a journey through time.
Each city is a place where GIMO lived during his stay on planet Earth or where he left something of himself.
Again, on each structure there is a message for humanity. A warning? A declaration of love? A conviction? A message of peace? A message that comes from the past or the future or from a parallel universe? Every question is still open, there is no certain answer yet. What's your?

Each work is inspired by Bauhaus design and is printed on 50x70 cm. forex panel.
While GIMO was studying humans aboard his spaceship, he came across the Weimar's Bauhaus design school. A real shock! From that astral date onwards, Bauhaus dreams occur very often on the nights of GIMO. Some of these dreams have become material and you can find them here.
